Finders Keepers Market Sydney = Mother's Day for Me ...

First noticed (apart from sensory overload of a 'singer') ...
was the fab knitting!
Stretched across the main wall, round thick, tall pillars...
needles had obviously been click clacking for months ...
I instantly thought Grrl+dog had plained and purled her genius ...
but no...
Kings Cross Knitters created the magic?
fabulously crowded to the max ...
we made a contribution to the fabulous White Girls ...
we adored these handmade mushrooms installed throughout ...
we yelled to hear the stall holders and each other ...
we loved how accessible and set out it was compared to years gone by...
we loved enchanted forest treats ...
We saw a crowd five deep ...
we waited and waited ...
Taaaa Daaaaaa ...
we discovered Gaye Naismith of Gaye Abandon with her ...
each bought a pair ...
mine are the short black ...
We love them!
we sauntered off into the night ...
agreeing 'cutesy' product overload + way too many brooches!
Me still taking pics ...
and looking back ...
we imagined the guys from MasterChef ...
running down this exact space.

We dined out in Enmore ... Happy Mothers Day to me :-)
so very happy...
Thank YOU Darling MJ. xo

Pinushion Swap ...

my pincushion partner was Amanda at EcoPossum ...
I was five days late finishing ...
posted April 22!
I began to worry the package had been lost in the post ...
I didn't want to blog so as not to spoil Amanda's surprise.
Yayyy ... today Amanda blogged the package arrived ...
she said the pincushion was "perfect".
I used a lambswool filling - the lanolin in the wool keeps the pins smooth ...
Taaa - Daaaa ...
I loved adding a smidge of hand stitching ...
... I included various sewing and chocie treats too.
Loved doing this swap - it was great fun!
The pretty pincushion I received from Sandra is HERE.

To mother not smother ...

When your child is sick it's hard to mother not smother?
Have you noticed how most of your conversation is a question ...
Like ...
how are you?
would you like a cup of tea?
would you like a coffee?
are you comfortable?
how are you feeling?
the list is endless and tiresome ...
but this little face ...
makes everything bliss!
She's become camera conscious - these all taken one after the other ;))

My Place and Yours ... what's on your key ring?

There's a Swarovski crystal on a sterling silver key ring, a gift in 1990.
The usual house, letter box, guest room, keys ...
AND ...
a silver Eiffel Tower ...
this is as close as I'll probably ever get to Paris.

See more keyrings HERE

When your child is sick ...

... no matter how old they are ...
everything else pales to oblivion ...
other than being there 24/7!

(She won the baby competition in Grace Bros Bondi Junction ... no telling the date)

Patchwork Timber Armoire ... Armadiature ... stunning craftmanship ...

This would have to be the ultimate in recycling ... it tops my Do Want list at Sophie's Saturday Shopping List here.
A sneak-peak into the Milan Furniture Fair, designer Robi Renzi of RenziVivian exhibits a furniture collection that turns the compiling of salvaged scrap wood into intricate craftsmanship.
Renzi̢۪s design, Armadiature, is a series of beautiful armoires made up of a carefully curated collage of wood ornamentation. The large variety of discarded material allows for each piece in the collection to hold its own independent and unique character.
Armadiature will be presented as part of an exhibition called Let It Shine at new exhibition space, Skillart, in the Zona Tortona district in Milan
Isn't it gorgeously unique?
