CREATIVE LANE at MARRICKVILLE TOWN HALL = NEW CRAFT FAIR for SYDNEY'S INNER WEST ... Yayyyyyy

A wonderful thing has happened in Sydney's  Inner West ...
the brave and lovely Suki Tam started ...
a monthly market at Marrickville Town Hall ...
where local art and craft legends
can retail their wares ...
as well as run a mini workshop ...
WOW ...
it was on today from 10am ~ 3pm ...
here's what caught my eye ...

The always imposing Marrickville Town Hall entrance ...
loved Catbirds cards, magnets etc ...
clever, quirky collaging ...
we were entranced with Gill Brooks Feltwide felting ..
the scarves were enchanting ...
this one's mine all mine ...
isn't the blue amazing?
Ceramics by Sian Thomas ...
so affordable ...
colours like you've never seen before ...
should have bought the blue berry colander ...
adorable hand sewn canvases by ickle bit fickle ...
quilts, dolls, cushions and cards by Thingkbaby ...
over 40 clever sellers ...
 a marvellous combination of goodies ...
the fabulous CrafterSchool girls ...
were giving away gorgeous gift bags.

Congratulations and Thanks to Suki for being so brave ...
for taking the plunge ...
starting off this much needed opportunity ...
in such a generous way ...
we're so looking forward to next time.

The Altered Page Buried Treasure 2011 = treasure hunting back to 2006 + creative confidence

The always mega generous, mega talented Seth Apter is
hosting 2011 Buried Treasure: an online, collaborative
project that invites art bloggers to go into the
depths of their blogs and dig for buried treasure.
Each participant is asked to repost one (or more) or
their favorite posts from their own blog. There are
so many brilliant artists out there but so little
time to explore all their work fully. This gives
us all an opportunity to see highlights from posts
we may have missed from so many of our
favorite bloggers!

~~~~~~~~~~~
My Buried Treasure post ...
Whoops ... I'm shocked after spending tooo long
recalling the memories, the topics I've blogged about since
beginning in January 2006. The hatched, matched and despatched
posts, the dilettante~ed~ness, the never thinking my work
was good enough, consequently rarely blogging about
my creativeness ... was all there.
But that's the old me!
The Great~GrandMaMa me emerged.
At my first solo exhibiton ...
comprising art created from ...
denim, mens neckties and a myriad of stuff.
My creative confidence soared ...
as red dots appeared ...
now I'm full steam ahead ...
still shy about blogging what I'm doing ...
but not about showing what I've done ...
or participating in Buried Treasure.
Thank You Seth!
Please click on the highlighted text to see my Buried Treasures  ... enjoy!
Good Golly Miss Olley Australian Treasure gone at 88 years + Archibald 2011 win + Archibald 1948 +
Gorgeous image of Margaret Olley & Ben Quilty earlier this year
after his portrait of Margaret won
Australia's prestigious 2011 Archibald Prize ...
Margaret took to colour after a bout with depression ...
her colours were splendid ...
her settings were gorgeous ...
in 1948 William Dobell won the Archibald for this portrait of Margaret ...
I was transfixed when I saw it at the Sydney Art Gallery.
I hope she was like this till her last breath.
I so want to be like Margaret when I grow up ...
good golly Miss Olley you've gone way too soon.
Walking for TS 14 plus + loving the gig + all time Sydney cab fare record = loving life
You know how I love my life ...
a special thrill is when I'm invited to walk for TS 14 plus fashions ...
gorgeous clothes for large girls ...
dress it down ...
or dress it up!
Loving the gig we models laughed about ousting Jen Hawkins!
Even the usual $22 cab ride that went up to $60 ...
due to torrential rain and peak hour traffic ...
couldn't dampen my mood ...
even though it has to be an all time Sydney record for ...
a 7km cab ride!
S.I.L. I'm still blessed!
Live it, Love it, Wear it.
at real butterflys living the Bellagio life ...
gorgeous ...
so close to nature ...
in the extremes of Vegas ...
delicate blue wings ...
they were curious too ...
while a mere second away from the beauty of nature ...
extravagnt shopping waited ...
like this 60 cms foot stool ...
a luxury tatoo parlour drew pictures on skin ...
and people pumped poker machines ...
where time stood still ...
under a painted sky ...
where you had no idea of night or day!
You have to see it to believe it!
Loving reliving it ...
