My Place and Yours ... Where You Sleep

Over at My Place and Yours, my fave Monday spot to visit Dani asks us ...
Here's mine ...
Linen is courtesy of a comp I won at InsideOut Magazine when I subscribed ... Yayyyyyyy that was a treat!
I bought the two European pillows as the prize included pillow cases ... but ... they're a pain in the butt hoying them on and off the bed... too bulky ... tho' I must admit ...
I'm feeling pretty spesh when I check out the pics I jumped up and took for Dani ...
everything you see except bed, linen and reading stuff is an op shop, flea market, online or garage sale find ...
plus here's where the daytime naps happen ...
head on the velvet cushion ...
velvet patchworth throw keeping toes warm ...
Blossie within arms reach ...
Bliss!
Pop over to Dani's to see more sleeping spots HERE.
Hope your week is wonderful everyone!

My Creative Space - HABU courtesy Prudence Mapstone ...

I discovered HABU on Prudence Mapstone's stall at Sydney Stitches & Craft ...
Originally used as an industrial yarn to create oil filters, now they are available as weavers', knitters' and artists' yarn!
The core is stainless steel and silk is wrapped around the core.
Because of the stainless steel, there is a memory in the yarn.
You can create something.
Twist it around! It will stay in that shape unless you straighten it out.
It is easiest if you knit this yarn in 2 strands, however a lace stitch in a single strand is beautiful. If you work in 2 strands, you will see a variety in the fabric. Works fine as a warp yarn for weavers, but it is a bit tricky, so if you are just starting to use this yarn, go as a weft yarn first.
Taaaa Daaaa ~ here's what I've done so far ...
30 stitches plain stitch ...
will become a scarf!
Gotta practice ~ my knitting fingers need to nimble up ...
it's like an amoeba, with a mind of it's own!

Flea Market Finds = Lace and Pearls ...

This weeks finds were a total fluke!
On a street corner in the Inner West ...
a couple of girls, with a couple of card tables,
were selling off some of their possessions ...
Was Babyface saying 'MaMa what have you done?'
... what will you do with 40 yards of lace and 3.5 kg of pearls?
Watching Babyface play for hours was total joy!
Wondering if she was thinking ...
'it's OK MaMa, if this haul is for your Flea Market Finds post' ...
He, He, He I chortled ...

Flea Market finds ... three jaunts, three jackpots ...

First from a quick pop in a nearby Sallies while my friend went to the bank ...
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this gorgeous white waffle print with a crochet edge...
I almost fainted when I saw the crochet edge was on three sides of what looks like a daybed cover ...
with $4.00 on the price tag.
Next was in a basket near the door of the local Vinnies...
35 skeins of DMC Cotton Tapisserie thread ...
Made in France ...
 for $10.
Yesterday at the local market ...
Ruler $4.
Measuring 20 x 12.5 cms ...
a small vintage, timber box with a $20 price tag ...
I was flumoxxed ...
yep you've heard it all before!!!
There's a small sliding cover on each side ...
Look what was under the first slide ...
4 small secret drawers and a longer one with a hole to lift it off ...
I knew there was something inside ...
Look what was inside the second sliding door ...
GADZOOKS ...
Old cash tin cash register numbers etc
and
mother of pearl buttons.
Blessed!

Queens Birthday holiday ... Ptolemy reuse and recycling of HerMaj the Queen

Ptolemy's statue of Queen Elizabeth II made from old kitchen mixers, juicers, toasters and more.
Commissioned to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's wedding to Prince Phillip, an additional aim of the artist was to "encourage people to re-use stuff."
After a public display, it was returned to the company that commissioned it.
Love this ~ Very Clever!
What did you reuse or recycle on the Queens Birthday holiday?

The Fully Sick Rapper via Pottymouthmama

On Monday the ever eloquent Potty Mouth MaMa posted about ...
The Fully Sick Rapper Aka Christiaan Van Vuuren...
Christiaan has been hospitalised for 170 days - since January.
In quarantine.
In Sydney.
With TB.
From what PMM gleaned in her reading, he travelled to South America and got super sick.
  And then went to hospital.
Then came out.
Then got evensicker.
He makes fully sick vids from his hospital room.
Like this Fashionista vid about a new label called 'Sicke'.
He has an entire YouTube channel of his own.
Because he is ridiculously funny and awesome.
                                                Fully sick.
                                             Fully talented.
                                             And fully cute.
Once he's out of hospital someone better give this fully sick rapper a job.
                                               A good one too.

You can join his Facebook page too.
Where he has over 20,000 friends

The Fully Sick Rapper is all kinds of cool.
Who doesn't love a guy with a banana peel bow tie?
