We're getting the exact same show here as broadcast in the US ...
only thing is it's on 7.35 am or 12.40 am ...
recording for later viewing is OK ...
but what's with programmers on the The How To channel ...
with the massive shortage of craft style programs available?

Martha Stewart BIG IDEA = Food Allergies & Intolerances ...

After being chided and harangued listing what I don't eat, and there's plenty on the list, for almost a decade, I quietly smirk when hearing of a new gluten or allergy free food range in a supermarket or better still when someone acknowledges the existence of people like me.

Martha Stewart has launched The Big Idea ... a company wide competition giving staff members an opportunity to share their personal ideas for a future project. Forty entries have been narrowed down to seven finalists and the public have been asked to log on to Martha's blog to cast their vote - scroll down and vote here

Leading with 59% of the 52,3747 votes is the idea of a publication for people with food allergies and intolerances ... hip, hip, hooray!

Here in Sydney there's become a massive amount of products available, so us gluten free'ers are able to dine out without ordering a lettuce leaf and a glass of water ... witnessing the world wide awakening is like food for the soul!

Happy Thanksgiving ...

The fourth Thursday of November is the day people in the United States and Americans all over the world traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving.
What does it all mean I wondered so Wikipedia provided an informative description of what Thanksgiving meant ... here.

As a dedicated Martha fan I've salivated through November as she's prepared lavish feasts, brined a turkey and shown how to prepare other sumptuous treats ... now I understand why!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating - save me a wing please!

Martha Stewart ... custard powder.

One of the most annoying things about cable TV is the repetition of the shows! However they redeem themselves by repeating Martha Stewart three time a day making it possible to catch the show in serial mode!

I'm flabbergasted having just heard Martha didn't know about custard powder! Delicious Tangerine Pie, baked by Pichet Ong has it in the recipe ... here.

Good grief, Martha do you know what you've been missing???

Custard powder has been the sweet / dessert staple of every Aussie pantry for generations. The instant dessert, a treat for the kids, always there when ice cream ran out or when money was short. When unexpected visitors stayed for dinner, warm custard and tinned peaches was the stand bydessert! What about when we sliced day old sponge dowsed with slurps of cooking sherry, topped with chopped jelly and custard poured over the top - Ohhhhhhhhhh Yummo ... Trifle ... sweet memories!
