Blogtoberfest 10 a theme = My Favourite Places = New York ...

Staying opposite Penn Station was a dream ...
we laughed and laughed at these ...
especially watching massive NYC cops in them ...
Ahhhh the home of Project Runway ...
the only way to see the sights ...
 mind blowing antique stores ...
fire escapes like we'd seen in the movies ...
words will never describe ...
the feeling of standing in Times Square ...
 this sight made our day...
we found New York streets are ...
ideal for ankle breaking ...
but every stumble was worth it ...
OK, OK Haaaaaaaa ...
this was outside Madam Tussauds !!!

Love to see your favourite place.

The Stylists Guide to NYC by Sibella Court ... don't leave home without it ...

prompted me to kick off my holiday posts!

Discovering the world of Sibella Court in 2009 when she was a judge on homeMade, was a dream come true.
A stylist who wasn't into institutional white 'everything', a stylist who loved stuff of all shapes, sizes and quantities made my heart sing.

In April we went to New York sweating on the release of her latest book

We bought it in Anthropologie for only $25.00 ...
off we went exploring with book in hand ...
 map included ...
photo's from the book ...
the pages come alive with images that will take your breath away!
see what I mean?

OK ... the me update is ...
the antibiotics have almost ridden me of the bronchial bug ...
the jet lag has subsided ...
almost time to commence tantalizing you with my interpretation ...
of a Great Grandma's trip to the US of A.

The best travel advice I can offer is ...
don't wait till you're my vintage to take that OS trip ...
it's all so very overwhelming, tiring, life changing, HUGE ...
plus you'll be way, way, way out of your comfort zone ...
SOooooo ...
Do It NOW !!!

More tomorrow ♥

Friday 13th live from Soho, New York ... still OMG - ing

Today was day two of our Soho exploration ...
beginning at ...
Paula Rubinstein, 65 Prince Street ...
very, very gorgeous but very, very, expensive ...
looking around Soho is like being in a movie
 am I really here ???
The streets are a nightmare ...
a mix of cobblestones, iron sheeting, broken tar & rubble ...
tossed into or covering pot holes ...
I snuck this pic on the way in to De Vera ...
and this one on the way out ...
we were ignored ...
we obviously were not of their ilk ...

Michele Varian across the road was a total sweetheart ...
she's just moved to the end of Crosby Street ...
we happily bought ...
we adored the mix of old, odd, quirky & new ...
nooooo you'll have to wait to see our treasures  ...
being in Michele Varian's was fabulous ...
remember when you're in Crosby Street ...
pop in and say Hi ...
we stumbled upon ...
A GOODWILL ...
a new one ...
new alright, whereeverything was new ...
from the paint smell to the stock!

Greenwich Village Goodwill Store,
44 West 8th Street, NY.

OMG what a disappointment ...
it was like a ...
like a ...
a bad $2 shop ...
where everything was made ...
yesterday ... LOL!!!

Tomorrow off flea marketing ...
then Sunday we're off to Boston ...
OMG ...
I'm so very blessed!

Live from Manhattan ... astonished, astounded, amazed iore than ever imagined ...

So much to do so little time you know the drill!
Three nights in Las Vegas was super sensory over load ...
you know the saying bigger than Texas?
Maybe it originated in Vegas ,,,
the sights, the gi-normity was jaw dropping ...
the O ... MG moments, images, experiences continue.
This travel biz leaves little time to do things like blogging ...
or fixing the font ...
bought a mouse for this Netbook today so posts will be easier ...DER!!!
Photo count exceeds 500 ...here's a smidge  ...
in Vegas we stayed in Paris ...
saw a Liberty Lady ...
hyperventilated at 600 antique sewing machines ...
ecstatic at the Brooklyn Bridge ...
flabergasted at the NYC Police vehicles ...
yes they're real ...
