What a great start to a Monday ... the news that I'm the winner over at Emjie's ... Yayyyyyyyyy!



I noticed Emjie's running Archive Friday   ...



... Emjie's writes of a friends father's reaction to a poem she'd written. I instantly recalled the time in 1997 when I told my dad I was going to do a University degree ...


"You won't finish it" was his retort! 


The cruelty of his words were nothing new.  Like Emjie I was gutted ...


... but ...


... I graduated ... 


... dad never took those words back ...


... I felt nothing when I'd hear him announce "Dorter has a university degree" ...



If dad knew of my upcoming venture no doubt his reaction would be identical ...
