Writers Island "The Dream"

Begrudgingly I delve into the memory bank! Long past feelings and memories dredge up … I’ll appease unwanted surging memoirs with … well, isn’t that what writing’s for?

Dream is not in my vocabulary, neither during the day or night. Recollections of dealing with the angsting, pacing, fear and dread through endless sleepless nights while waiting for the fear of sleep to abate and pleading within for the soaring, the flying, the yearnings to land and the flight to end are no more.

Angry exhausted mornings are no more.

Seeking sleep with a clear mind where prescribed benzos are no longer the lull-a-bye are no more.

Now light reading, meditation and internal peace makes the ultimate end to each day. If the dream is sweet for you, be grateful!

I guess you could say, being delivered from the struggles of your sleep time is a dream come true for you?

My dreams are always bizarre. Never sweet.

Sweet dreams to you, too!

In a way those sleepless nights chased you to your end of the day practice and now you show us that there are other ways of dreaming...

Nicely written - over the bridge and into the sun.

I'm so blessed to have lived through what a good friend calls a 'scary childhood' and I've always been blessed to have mostly good dreams. I'm so glad you've found a peaceful way of dealing with this and it works for you. Thank you.

Me too. I prefer a dreamless state, a calm mind and the next day I am well-rested. Though my wish isnt always granted. Thanks for sharing.

I rarely remember my night dreams and when I do, I'm generally wishing that I hadn't and then spend the day trying to shake it. I'm glad you found a way to ease your night dreaming.
