Yann Arthus Bertrand in his breathtaking Earth from Above series of photography!
When you see this amazing work surely you'll ponder at the political and media hype about how we, the inhabitants of the world, are "killing" it off!
Who's profiting from the hype, from the squillions being spent on summit conferences and big name 'nobs' espousing at what a sorry state the world is in ... are we being fed the facts?
OK, OK, slow down, I'm not saying it's all unky dory out there - but please, do yourself a favour, embark on a visual feast, I'm sure you will feel better ... click here to start with Australia ... then choose your destination, it'll cost you nothing!

What beauty - until of course I looked up my country, UK, and found myself staring at the somewhat startling image of hillside at Ferne Abbas and it's rather excited inhabitant! I trust this isn't the image most people carry in their minds when thinking of our sceptred Isle!

Thank you for your comment. I have bookmarked your blog. And I think I might be "over it" too.
Happy 2008 from Hillsboro, Oregon.
Wow! Those are beautiful work. Thanks for letting us know about this artist's gorgeous work.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us. The images of my country, the Philipiines, from above left tears in my eyes as I view them. This is how God watches us, from the distance. We are safe in his hands.
I wish you well.

I've seen some of that artist's work in an exhibition, totally stunning. When you see those photos, that's why the envirnmental movement is so important, this is what we don't want to lose...
Beautiful images of a beautiful earth! A positive ending to the year 2007.
Beautiful, indeed!
